F.Y.I. this is the old episode. I posted it up because I love the way he shot it, especially the court scene...how it zooms in then zooms out, and gets really blurry...bottom line dude has skills! And he's only 22 [and he's cute]!

I can't wait to move to L.A.

[IMA MAKE YOU A FAN]

The South African rockers BLK JKS[pronounced Black Jacks] were picked up by M.I.A. producer/DJ extraordinaire Diplo after he heard their 2007 vinyl-only 10-inch, while touring in South Africa. He arranged for the group to perform in the states last year, including a buzzed-about SXSW show. Soon after, Secret Machines' Brandon Curtis was introduced to BLK JKS and was so impressed he invited the quartet to join him in New York City's legendary Electric Ladyland Studios. The result: MYSTERY EP, BLK JKS' debut on Secretly Canadian out March 10.

The band consists of childhood friends Linda Buthelezi (vocals) and Mpumi Mcata (guitar)(pictured below), plus Molefi Makananise (bass) and Tshepang Ramoba (drums).

[junior boys]

Junior Boys are a Hamilton, Ontario-based electronic pop group. Jeremy Greenspan & Johnny Dark make up the duo who were influenced by a number of musical genres, including, U.K. garage, hip-hop, and minimal techno. They originally made a demo but with no positive results Johnny Dark threatned to leave the group. When former Warp employee Nick Kilro heard the demo he became interested in making Junior Boys the first artist on his record label KIN. Engineer Matt Didemus joined Jeremy Greenspan, and together they recorded enough material for a full-length album. They have been out since about 2004, but I'm just discovering them 5 years later. Yeaaah, I'm sort of late but Junior Boys made me a fan so now I'm making you one too. enjoy.

i remember So You Think You Can Dance using their song In The Morning a while back with the Lacey & Pasha dance [if you haven't seen it go to youtube NOW!] THEY KILLLLLED IT!

[CHAIRLIFT]

you know that song you're always bumping to when the ipod nano commercial comes on? i've been searching and searching and finally when i least expected it i finally found the 3 geniuses behind that masterpiece. i just so happened to be reading the new seventeen when BAM! they talked about the lead singer [ Caroline Polachek ] and of course my geek ass jumped on the computer to look them up..

The band consists of Caroline Polachek, Aaron Pfenning and Patrick Wimberly. They were formed in Boulder, Colorado in early 2006 to make live music for haunted houses and they were mystified by the 1980's faux-gothic architecture, oak-cabinet aquariums, vacant dancefloors, fake trees, crystal chandeliers and dark velveteen booths. The inn provided them with the ideal setting for a new breed of pop. They relocated to Brooklyn in the summer of 2006, and the trio played shows around Brooklyn and the Lower East Side with a thriving society of experimental pop magicians including MGMT[my babes], Yeasayer, Suckers, and Mixel Pixel. With the release of their debut album, Does You Inspire You, Chairlift made me a fan and now ima make you a fan, too.
